Lubbock, TX

I can't sleep bc I woke up at 11 this morning and then fell asleep at 4 this afternoon...this is what happens when you don't work. So I found a conversation I had with Fung back in Frebruary about my trip to Texas Tech. By the way, the first thing the cab driver talked to me about in Lubbock was about their Dust Storms that happens. He compared it to the hurricanes we get down on the gulf...I don't know what to say to that!

lil nie 15 (11:48:03 PM): so i emailed the coordinatore in advance to warn her that american may have a delay
lil nie 15 (11:48:16 PM): so i drive to austin thursday morning
lil nie 15 (11:48:27 PM): friday morning i wake up at 6 get to the airport at 7
lil nie 15 (11:48:31 PM): flight leaves at 730
lil nie 15 (11:48:35 PM): all was well
lil nie 15 (11:49:15 PM): then i get to dallas for a layover, except i didn't realize how long it was (about 1 hr 45)
lil nie 15 (11:49:23 PM): whatever, gave me more time to prepare there
lil nie 15 (11:49:27 PM): so i get breakfast then about 10:00 I go to change
lil nie 15 (11:50:31 PM): i go into the big stall, use the bathroom then proceed to unzip my garmet bag
lil nie 15 (11:51:01 PM): i pull up as normal but the zipper didnt move
lil nie 15 (11:52:12 PM): i was like...crap
lil nie 15 (11:52:17 PM): here goes the madness!
lil nie 15 (11:52:29 PM): so i keep tugging and trying to move it around for like 10 minutes
lil nie 15 (11:52:42 PM): then i totally just pulled the handle of the zipper off!
lil nie 15 (11:52:45 PM): crap

lil nie 15 (11:53:36 PM): i rip a hole at the tip since its just those banana rep bags they give you
lil nie 15 (11:53:42 PM): and slip all my clothes out
lil nie 15 (11:53:48 PM): i get dressed finally
lil nie 15 (11:53:53 PM): then i go to put on my makeup
lil nie 15 (11:54:15 PM): well, my eyeshadow had started to break up a litlle bit
lil nie 15 (11:54:31 PM): usually i just turn it over and let the bits fall into the trashcan
lil nie 15 (11:54:39 PM): and it's all good
lil nie 15 (11:54:57 PM): well this time when i turned it over, the WHOLE thing falls in the trashcan

lil nie 15 (11:55:52 PM): so i had to just work with what i had since i picked out the makeup i was going to use so i didnt have to bring everything

lil nie 15 (11:56:10 PM): since i would have to put it on my eyes! gross

lil nie 15 (11:56:33 PM): so by then im thinking, ive been in the bathroom for a really really really long time
lil nie 15 (11:56:42 PM): but i havent heard them call my flight to board
lil nie 15 (11:56:47 PM): my gate is next to the bathroom
lil nie 15 (11:56:56 PM): i look at my watch and its 10:30
lil nie 15 (11:57:00 PM): my flights at 10:40

lil nie 15 (11:57:08 PM): so im like thats ok, i can still get on
lil nie 15 (11:57:42 PM): i come out and i look at the board and my flight is delayed for like 1 hr 15
lil nie 15 (11:57:45 PM): uhggggggg
lil nie 15 (11:57:47 PM): i knew it
lil nie 15 (11:57:49 PM): i knew it!
lil nie 15 (11:58:58 PM): so i call TT
lil nie 15 (11:59:03 PM): tell them i will be late for the interview
lil nie 15 (11:59:05 PM): sigh
lil nie 15 (11:59:14 PM): at least it's out of my hands
lil nie 15 (11:59:19 PM): i get to the interview about 20 minutes late, not bad
lil nie 15 (11:59:40 PM): they're during introductions first, but like everyone stares at you when you walk into something impt this late

lil nie 15 (12:00:19 AM): but at least the interview was good
**Coming back, I got out of my interview early, so I was able to catch earlier flights out of Lubbock and out of Dallas. At least my day ended up much better**

I won't be going back to Lubbock anytime soon.
